The Seán Binder Case with Special Guest Irish MEP Grace O'Sullivan
Hi everyone! Welcome to a new year with us at Dura Lex, Sed Lex!
This week's episode will be about a case that has been described as "the largest criminalization of solidarity" in Europe: We will discuss the case of the 24 Human Rights Activists who, for their voluntary work in Lesbos, faced charges of espionage, human trafficking, money laundering and fraud by Greek authorities. We will mainly focus on Seán Binder, one of the 24 aid workers that are being accused. Moreover, Eva and Georgia will talk about European migration policies and discuss them in regard to existing laws.
We are super proud of this week's episode as we are joined by a fantastic guest: Irish MEP Grace O'Sullivan. She is one of the MEPs who championed the case on an EU level and kindly took the time to answer our questions.
We hope you will enjoy this episode and that it will raise more attention to the current case, which has deeply affected humanitarian work in Greece and challenges European values and laws.
We look forward to discussing more interesting topics in the coming weeks! Thank you for tuning in to our fourth episode of season 2!! Stay tuned for more
