🎙️🎧Dear listeners welcome back to a new episode of DLSL! Today we are going to talk about the freedom of assembly and how this freedom is viewed worldwide🪧🌎📢🗣️. Freedom of assembly is often viewed as a fundamental feature of a healthy democratic system as it allows citizens to participate in the political process, it gives them a voice and it enables an extra check on the government. This right has been enshrined in many international treaties, however the degree to which people are allowed to freely assemble varies worldwide. In today’s episode we are therefore going to provide a historical overview, a comparative analysis through the democracy index and finally we are going to present you with some case law. Join us in this episode where we uncover the right to freedom of assembly and if you are curious about other topics we have discussed, don’t forget to check our previous episodes. 🌎🚀
