Welcome back to Dura Lex Sed Lex!
This week we will be talking about a very special topic that is often overlooked: the Indigenous Peoples around the world - their long struggle for legal recognition and ongoing strive to have that recognition adequately enforced.
Eva and Elena will give you some historical and legal insights regarding the lives of Indigenous Peoples all around the world. Moreover, they will discuss the current struggles of indigenous people and thus, they will be joined by an absolute expert on the topic, Medes Malaihollo, a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Groningen who is researching the legal aspects of lives of indigenous Peoples. Together, they will discuss some of the core and some of the emerging issues that Indigenous Peoples around the world have to deal with. Also, make sure to stay tuned as there is a surprise waiting for you at the end of the episode! And of course we hope you will enjoy this episode!
On a different note, we also want to use this opportunity to thank every listener who tuned in this year. This will be the last upload from us for now, however, we will be back with more exciting topics in 2023! Therefore - Happy Holidays, Happy New Year and see you soon in 2023!
