During episode two Anna goes solo and interviews Prof. Dr. John Morijn, a Professor of Law & Politics in International Relations, and Human Rights at the University of Groningen to talk with him about the ongoing Rule of Law violations in Poland and Hungary. Among other topics, they discuss the interrelation of democracy, fundamental human rights, and the impartiality & independence of the judiciary, if EU financial sanctions can be seen as effective and how populism and abortive rights play into the overall picture in Poland. In addition, they will highlight how the situation within Hungary is similar yet different and finally how WE as citizens can actively show our support to the Polish and Hungarian citizens.
